Weekly Note for Week Ending 6/20/25

It's Juneteenth this week (in fact, yesterday), and if you're not familiar with Juneteenth, you should direct your attention to this article. It also contains some elements and resources to share with your audience. It's extremely significant, and worth some reflection. We've come a long way (or have we?), and it's worth contemplating our past and reflecting on how we can continue to improve ourselves as a society that is equal, just, and good.

A Quick Note About This Blog: I don't know how I want this to look, so each week might look a little different. Bear with me. Also, I have ADD, so I might just be changing things up because I'm bored with how it looks.

🧠 I spent some time tearing through the article from an MIT study that's taking the internet by storm to figure out if it's worth the "paper" it's typed on. Spoiler alert: It isn't. It's a great first thought, but as a study, it's severely lacking. I spell out my initial thoughts here.

❤️ It's my 16th anniversary today! We've been together so long that if you ask Andrew, he'll tell you... 84 years

💳 If you aren't familiar with Privacy.com, I'd implore you to check it out. It's a service that provides virtual credit cards on demand for services you use to better protect your, well, privacy, and your payment information. What's new is a Privacy Anywhere card that you can generate for your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet to pay with a tap anywhere, anytime while still maintaining control. I'm not sponsored by this company nor is there a referral link I'm posting. It's just good for you to know about.

📺 We've been binging Bad Sisters on Apple TV+, and while I feel like the first few episodes are fairly slow, the pay off is well worth it! As a quick synopsis, a group of Irish sisters plot to get rid of their sister's husband because of how awful he is. He is very, very awful. What could possibly go wrong?

🎵 I am completely obsessed with this band, Sons of Legion (despite my reservations initially because of their name. It seemed a little...potentially problematic? But upon further review, they seem really cool!). This song is uplifting, and their whole goal is to create soul-shaking music. So many great songs!

📷 Thanks to @Maique for turning me on to the Last Camera Project - with the intent to have the people who join share the one photo they would share if that was the only photo they could ever share with the world. It's a unique concept. If you'd like to join, I can invite six people who can join without joining the waitlist.

Confession of the Week: I love red velvet cake and cupcakes. I can't handle red velvet cookies. I know, it's basically the same ingredients. Make it make sense.

Shoutout of the Week: @Maique for both telling me about the Last Camera Project but also for his @stickerspotter account which highlights, you guessed it, stickers seen in the wild. Love the content, Maique!
